Last week (5th – 10th Oct’24) we had heavy rains and winds in and around Bengaluru and both of our farms have some negative impacts. One of the melia dubia tree had fallen in the Dhanvi farm and damaged our trellis structure.
After chopping the tree we have kept the wood in open for now. May be we can use this to build something in future.
In Pavagada, heavy rains have filled our common water pond (close to 1 crore litres) which is a good news but there is a lot water logging in my farm. Some of the Dates plants are completely covered with water, which is not good for them. Also there were lots of weeds around the Dates and other fruits plants. I just got the photos but could not visit. Due to Dasara, we did not get the labours to work in the farm as well. Coming week we’ll arrange someone and next weekend we’ll planning to visit as well.
There is a lot goes behind the scene with any farm. I could visit the Dhanvi farm, earlier this week and fixed the damage but could not for the Pavagada one, as it a bit far.
I plan to add regular farms updates here to keep a journal for future reference. So if you are interested to know more, please keep an here.
