The event was scheduled between 4th to 7th Oct.&#8217;16 .<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Got my <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/linuxcon?src=hash\">#linuxcon<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/containercon?src=hash\">#containercon<\/a> 2016 <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/speaker?src=hash\">#speaker<\/a> batch. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/cloudyuga\">@cloudyuga<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/berlin?src=hash\">#berlin<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/sxXmNn92XO\">pic.twitter.com\/sxXmNn92XO<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Neependra Khare (@neependra) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/neependra\/status\/782941936369995777\">October 3, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>I reached there on 3rd Oct&#8217;16 and got a chance to meet <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/zemlin\">Jim Zemlin<\/a> Executive Director of \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linuxfoundation.org\/\">The Linux Foundation.<\/a>\u00a0On 4th, during the keynote<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/solomonstre\"> Solomon Hykes<\/a>, Founder and CTO of Docker open-sourced <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/docker\/infrakit\">Infrakit<\/a>, which is a toolkit for creating and managing declarative, self-healing infrastructure. It is currently used in Docker for AWS and other similar solution. Later in the day I attended sessions on <em>Comparing Container Orchestration<\/em> tools by fellow Docker Captain\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/adrianmouat\">\u00a0Adrian Mouat<\/a>, <em><a href=\"http:\/\/man7.org\/conf\/lceu2016\/cgroups-LinuxCon.eu_2016-Kerrisk.pdf\">Cgroups<\/a><\/em> session by <a href=\"http:\/\/man7.org\/\">Michael Kerrisk<\/a>\u00a0and <em>Mircoservices vs Reverse-Proxy<\/em> via <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/emilevauge\">Emile Vague<\/a>. In the evening I attended the speaker and sponsor&#8217;s party at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.houseofweekend.berlin\/\">House of Weekend<\/a>, Berlin.<\/p>\n<p>On 5th I spent most of the time preparing for container orchestration workshop on 7th. Though I attended few sessions like <em>Getting started with Mesos<\/em> Marathon by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/brndnmtthws\">Brenden Matthews<\/a>, \u00a0<em>OCI session<\/em> by <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/hqhq\">Qiang Huang<\/a>, <em>Docker Orchestration<\/em>\u00a0via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/aaronlehmann\">Aaron Lehmann<\/a>, \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/estesp\">Phil Estes <\/a>talk on container security and Migrating traditional &amp; existing app on container by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/fatherlinux\">\u00a0Scott McCarty<\/a>. In the evening I attended 25th Anniversary of Linux Celebration\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.orangerie-charlottenburg.com\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow me noopener noreferrer\">The Great Orangery at Charlottenburg Palace<\/a>. After the workshop Solomon joined us for Q &amp;A. For Docker Swarm and Marathon I gave instances on DigitalOcean to each participant. For Kubernetes I created a cluster on Google Cloud and had a namespace created for each participant. The summit had very good technical content. All of the videos are <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.docker.com\/2016\/10\/docker-distributed-system-summit-videos-podcast-episodes\/\">recorded and would be shared soon<\/a>. I could not attend the second day of Summit as I had come back on 8th.<\/p>\n<p>As always this had been a great experience. Learned a lot, met many interesting people and made some new friends.<\/p>\n<p>People have been asking me who is funding your foreign trips as I attended DevConf in Brno,CZ and DockerCon in Seattle earlier this year as well. \u00a0I have been funding my own trips, which I think as investments. I got few leads from this conference as well. Hope I am in right path by doing so.
